A Letter from the Owner

Number 1 is God, but if I leave it at God, you may think of a generic god to which everyone refers today. Our leaders say "God Bless America", but they view all "gods" as acceptable. You can worship anything in this country, and it's your right. As for me and my house, we have accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior; the upcoming Messiah to the Jews; God's only son. I believe God's Holy Bible and accept it as His word. I think we are in trouble today because we failed to recognize God as supreme and his Son as Savior and King. God does not want a debate on sin. He gave us some very basic commands to go by; the first of which his Son said was the most important, put God first.

I was a rebellious teenager and joined the USMC and those DI's didn't have a problem with my disobedience; they knew exactly what I needed...discipline. After I got out and worked awhile, had a wife and son to take care of, I turned my life over to Jesus and he put a desire in my heart for others. I took my training from God, who has been and continues to teach me. I stepped out in faith knowing God would provide. I started obedience training dogs and then added security services to the business. This developed into Gray Kennels & Security after a few years. My essential desire was to have a full service security company, staffed by men with all the capabilities to defend whatever God sends us to do.

One asset that can't be replaced is a well trained K-9 partner. A K-9's hearing and sense of smell is very valuable in security work.  I also teach gun classes. If it's for law enforcement or hand gun carry permits, I try to make everyone realize that guns can only be used if someone's life is in danger. It may be too late to draw your gun, but a dog is already drawn and makes the decision for people to stand a safe distance away. The reactionary gap is four to six feet away, and that's what the dog says when he reacts to people.

Mark 10:43 says you must be a servant to be a good leader. Matthew 22:39 says love your neighbor as yourself. I use an example of a security manager that had been working with us for some time and was on a job where there were a lot of K-9's being used as well as men. Two other security companies we had hired to help with a big labor dispute were from out of town. One day the national media reporter showed up. He wanted someone to say something bad about the situation so he could put it on the news. While he was interviewing someone, you could see the security and dogs and all the commotion that makes good news according to the world today, and there in the background, was our security manager, not showing her authority as the #1, but cleaning up after dogs on national television.  I think that's who God wants to be in charge, someone who cares enough to humble him/herself to do what needs to be done. I have a little saying, "if a person does not have love for his fellow man or dogs, then his corrections could be considered cruelty".
